Recently our Seay Realty Group Team pulled out our bucket list of favorite places to add to our blog, and Roanoke was at the top of the list. Historic downtown Roanoke has recently experienced a wonderful transformation along Oak Street, warranting those that have lived here for years, to make plans to visit. The original area has been extended to cover 9 blocks of unique shopping and restaurants, prompting the Texas House of Representatives to officially name Roanoke “The Unique Dining Capital of Texas!” It’s new designation is certainly warranted, with the expansion encompassing 60 restaurants that would tempt anyone’s palate. In addition to new shops and restaurants, you’ll also notice the downtown area has become an area to live, shop, dine and play. New townhomes called The Residences at Roanoke City Center and apartments have also changed the landscape to an urban development that has maintained its small town charm. The Peabody Hotel and Conference Center is also under construction, across from the new Roanoke City Hall.
