It’s Fall Y’all! Decorating Inspirations!

It’s beginning to feel like Fall is arriving in DFW, with cooler temps, schools are in session, and football season has kicked off.  It’s September, which means it’s time to think carving those pumpkins and covering your home in those rich, rustic shades. Everyone loves a home with incredible curb appeal, and there are tons of ideas that can continue to the style of decorating your home for autumn, whether its homestead or modern.

Feeling the drops in temperature, temporary or no, makes our Seay Group team feel excited about the fun things we all love to do in our own homes, to celebrate the season!

Here are a few of our favorite ideas to get started:

  • Soft colors work, too! We’re loving the additions of white, gold and platinum this year.
  • Planted mums work inside and out
  • The local farmer’s market is a great stop for unusual gourds and pumpkins
  • Light it up with lanterns
  • Fall crafts are great for virtual learning kids to have an activity that gets displayed
  • Don’t forget your back porch
  • Add evening lights on porch arrangements
  • Plant Ornamental Cabbage and Kale
  • Mini-pumpkins are an Autumn Seay Group favorite for kitchen containers
  • Plant succulents and mums in pumpkins
  • Leaves with your pumpkins add texture & layers
  • Use metal rods and stack your pumpkins tall
  • Use haystacks for height
  • Paint branches fall colors to keep decorating on a budget

  • Upcycle kid’s wagons for mum and pumpkin displays
  • Artificial moss is a great layer with pumpkins, gourds and apples
  • Heirloom gourds and pumpkins add tons of texture and layers to your Fall displays
  • Glue striped ribbon vertically on your pumpkins, for a French country “grain stack” look
  • Pull out your old kitchen crocks, and stack those pumpkins and mums within
  • Use the fresh white pumpkins with pops of blues or teals, if you’re seeking a sophisticated “gourd” appeal
  • Metallic is in! Have you heard, mixing metals works with your Fall displays, too
  • We’re also mad for some plaid, which is a wonderful way to add color to indoor Fall displays
  • Do what makes you feel “Fun Fall”!
