Taste and Tell! Monthly Foodie Blog
November, 2017
The Seay Group was out and about in November, and have three newly-opened, fantastic restaurants to tell you about – all with patios (our favorite!). Here we go:
Marty-B’s
2644 FM 407 East, Bartonville
940-241-3500
Hours: Monday – Thursday 11am – 10pm / Friday-Saturday 11am – 11pm / Sunday 11am – 9pm
Carry-Out Breakfast Tacos: 7 – 10am
Marty B’s opened to much fan-fare on November 14th and we’re so excited! With a Texas sized patio, live music, and a menu that includes breakfast (carry-out only) Marty B’s promises to keep things hopping in the Bartonville & Lantana area. Marty has given us a great destination to meet friends, with an 11 foot HD screen in the bar to watch the big games, community fire pits with comfortable seats, rooftop seating, and live music on Thursday – Saturday (and some Sunday’s) including local legends and visiting acts from Austin, Nashville and other regions. Serving a self-described menu of “4 food groups – steak, BBQ, tex-mex and craft beer” Marty’s looks to be a comfortable hangout for just about everyone. Oh, did we mention the s’mores on the menu? Yup, something for everyone!

Mena’s Tex-Mex – Grill and Cantina
2500 Lakeside Parkway, Suite 110, Flower Mound
214-285-9900
Hours: Sunday – Thursday 11am – 10pm / Friday – Saturday 11am – 10:30pm
Mena’s Grill recently opened in Flower Mound’s Lakeside Development and has not disappointed. Top notch menu and service, regular drink specials and full bar, and best of all, a patio with umbrella tables overlooking the main street of Lakeside so you can see what’s going on. Like their other two locations in Richardson and Carrollton, an extensive menu of Tex-Mex dishes is offered, including Chips and Queso to die for! The Seay Group will definitely make repeat visits!

Mi Dia from Scratch
2601 W. Windsor Drive, Flower Mound
972-874-4747
Hours: Sunday – Thursday 11am to 10pm / Friday – Saturday 11am to 11pm
Mi Dia from Scratch opened in August across from Flower Mound Presbyterian Hospital and quickly became a local go-to destination for their Tex Mex cuisine, described as “a fusion of the past and present that belnds traditional Mexico City recipes with modern Santa Fe and Tex Mex flavors”. Like their Plano and Grapevine locations, their signature dishes are one of a kind and will have you coming back for more. Start with the Tortilla Soup (best we’ve had in a long time!) and work your way through the menu. We loved the smoked bacon and chipotle fajitas … just spicy enough! We have enjoyed specialty drinks (margarita of the month) on the patio the last few months, and think you will too!
