Holiday Events – Seay Group Favorites!

JingleBells2The Holidays are just around the corner (yikes!). To get you in the spirit, we’ve rounded up a few local must-do/must-see events:

FAMILY FUN

October 1 – February 25 – Dallas Museum of Art “All the Eternal Love I have for the Pumpkins” exhibit. One of artist Yayoi Kusama’s signature Infinity Mirror rooms, this is the only Infinity Mirror Room of its kind in a North American collection. Visitors will step inside the mirrored space and fully immerse themselves in Kusama’s creation, becoming part of the art.

November 10 – January 1 – ICE! Twas the Night Before Christmas – A walk through holiday attraction kept at 9 degrees. This year’s feature will involve 2 million pounds of hand-carved ice sculptures and five ice slides. See the classic poem come to life!

November 10 – January 1Lone Star Christmas at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine – You and your family will marvel at more than 2 million holiday lights & acres of magnificent decorations, plus spectacular holiday activities and events! More Information

Saturday, November 18Old Town Holiday Stroll in Lewisville. Beginning at noon, spend the afternoon in old town Lewisville while you’re treated to various musical performances throughout the day. The Stroll culminates in a tree lighting ceremony at 6:30p, followed by a showing of The Polar Express movie in the plaza at 6:45p.

 Sunday, November 192017 Parade of Lights in Downtown Fort Worth – First staged in 1983, the Parade of Lights is one of the largest illuminated parades in the country! This year’s theme is The Melodies of Christmas, the parade begins at 6 p.m. and features over 100 illuminated entries. More information psst – volunteers needed!

TurkeyTrot3.jpgNovember 23 (Thanksgiving) – Kick-start your Thanksgiving day at the 7th Annual Double Oak Turkey Trot 5K and One Mile Fun Run at the Double Oak Town Hall, 320 Waketon Road. This event has been gaining in popularity … so much that registration has closed early the past 4 years due to sell-out. Register early!! All proceeds from the 2017 Turkey Trot benefits funding for inner-city youth programs run by Dare to Serve.

Saturday, December 2Lewisville Christmas Parade – Wayne Ferguson Plaza in Lewisville. Sponsored by Huffines Auto Dealerships, events begin at 8A with a pancake breakfast served by the Lewisville Morning Rotary Club and the Motorcycle Toy Run, starting at city hall. The parade begins at 12:30P in Old Town Lewisvlle.

Saturday, December 7, 7PParade of Lights in Historic Downtown Grapevine – Bring the entire family to the Parade of Lights, the largest lighted Christmas parade in North Texas. This Grapevine tradition features more than 100 lighted floats and marching bands. Look for Santa Claus on the last float! Come early to claim your spot along Historic Main Street to watch this exciting holiday event.

Saturday, December 9, 6P – 9PFlower Mound Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony – Celebrate “Christmas Around the World” at Flower Mound’s nighttime parade and tree lighting ceremony. Pictures with Santa, carriage rides, kids’ activities, local vendors, food trucks and more! FREE family event. The Summit Club will accept canned good donations along the parade route to benefit CCA.

SHOPPING

Shopping4November 4, 10A – 4PArgyle Holiday Shopping Extravaganza featuring 75+ vendors and shops with specialized items, bake sale, huge raffle, concessions and more. All proceeds to benefit Project Graduation 2020. Argyle High School, 191 US 377.

November 4, 9:30AHoliday Craft Show, 9:30a to 4p featuring arts/crafts, door prizes and more. $2 admission goes toward college scholarships. Ryan High School, 5101 E McKinney Street, Denton.

November 9 – 12, 9A to 5PNeath the Wreath Holiday Gift Market 2017 sponsored by Junior League of Collin County, this 4 day fundraiser event features the best in holiday and home décor. 2000 E Spring Creek Parkway, Plano TX 75074  Psst – Ladies Night Out on November 8th, 7pm, gives you early access to the fabulous ‘Neath the Wreath vendors while enjoying a sumptuous buffet dinner, specialty cocktails and live DJ entertainment.

Saturday, November 11Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash – A Premier handmade shopping event and party will showcase the very best in handmade apparel, bags, jewelry, home dec, and more. November 15 – November 18 – Chi Omega Christmas Market “40 Years of Giving” 2017 Centennial Hall at Fair Park. Over 180 merchants showcasing gifts for every age.

Friday, November 17, 11A – 1P2017 Holiday Extravaganza hosted by Youth and Family Counseling. Lunch and fabulous live and silent auctions of beautiful holiday décor at Bridlewood Golf Club. Wear your best hat for a chance to win a prize in the hat contest! All money raised will provide mental health care to the clients of Youth and Family Counseling. Tickets are $35. See more
