Thanksgiving in the Dallas–Fort Worth area is a season overflowing with gratitude, connection, and giving. Beyond gatherings and traditions, it’s a meaningful time to support those who need a helping hand.

Whether you’ve lived in DFW for years or are new to the area, here are heartfelt ways to give back to the community and make a difference this holiday season.

🧡 1. Support Local Food Banks & Pantries

Holiday demand for food assistance rises significantly in North Texas. A simple donation or volunteer shift can help ensure that every family enjoys a warm holiday meal.

North Texas Food Bank (NTFB)

Provides millions of meals annually across Dallas and surrounding counties. Volunteers are needed for packing, sorting, and distribution.

Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB)

🎁 3. Adopt a Family or Child for the Holidays

One of the most rewarding ways to give back is by directly blessing a child or family.

Community Partners of Dallas – Holiday Toy Drive

Donate toys, sponsor a child, or contribute financially to help brighten a child’s holiday.

Salvation Army Angel Tree

Choose a local child and shop from their wish list, providing clothing, toys, and essentials.
