Collin County Chronicles- Dutch Bros Coffee in McKinney, TX

As mentioned in previous blogs, Seay Realty Group loves to highlight the joys of living in North Texas through their team’s own experiences.

This week, I ventured into McKinney to visit the much anticipated Dutch Bros Coffee. Dutch Bros has been in business with over 400 locations on the west coast since 1992 so being able to have one of the first locations in Texas so close to home is a big deal.  There were rumblings of a Dutch Bros coming to Collin County last year and as the building was nearing completion, the excitement really grew. That led to very long lines when they opened that may have scared some people from giving it a try but I am here to tell you not to let the long lines fool you! I timed my visit and from my spot at the end of the line to the minute I drove away with my drink, I was only there for 13 minutes. I was extremely impressed with the employees. They were so knowledgeable about the menu items and they had the lines running quickly and smoothly. They take your order on tablets right from your car window so you never even have to get out and they were so incredibly kind to this indecisive customer with a lot of questions about the menu.

Not a coffee drinker? That’s OK! They have a vast array of teas, smoothies, shakes, hot chocolates, chai, energy drinks and snacks. They even have a special menu for the kiddos. Since I went mid-afternoon, I opted to try their non-caffeinated Hawaiian Frost which is their take on a banana, orange, peach and strawberry shake with whipped cream on top. It was so creamy and delicious! It reminded me of a drink you’d get on a tropical vacation.

Looking for a cool Dutch Bros hack? Join their “text mafia” and send a text that says DBCUSTER to 27047 for a free 16 oz. drink of your choice! So, not only was my drink heavenly, it was FREE!

They are opening 2 additional locations in Plano and Princeton in the next few weeks with plans to have a total of 10 locations in DFW by the end of 2021. They have a goal of having 100 Texas location by the end of 2023! Try it out and let us know what you think!
