pets - 18Did you know that nationally, most households have at least one pet? Besides dogs and cats, many people enjoy the company of birds, reptiles, fish or even hamsters/gerbils/rabbits/hedgehogs.

What does this have to do with real estate, you might wonder? Well, if you’re considering a move to Flower Mound, Lantana or surrounding areas, you already know what a wonderful location it is in which to live and educate your children. Did you also know how much we have to offer your pets?

Pet Stores: We counted at least 15 pet stores in this area, including Feed Stores, Chain Stores, and boutique-style stores. GREAT places to find an extra special treat for your furry friend! (

pets - 20Pet Grooming: according to, there are at least 24 grooming salons in the area, including dog wash facilities. Yep, our pets are gorgeous!!!

Dog Parks: We boast three major dog parks in our immediate area, with more opening all the time in the D/FW Metroplex. Locally, your dog can enjoy The Hound Mound in Flower Mound, Dog Park at Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park, and the Highland Village Unity Park Dog Park. Hours, and rules, are posted on each Dog Park’s website.

Pet Boarding: Countless Pet Boarding and Daycare businesses showed up with a google search. But from experience, plan to book early, especially for the major holidays!

Pets - 10Of Special Note: The Charming Cat Cafe is a public setting located in the Music City Mall in Lewisville, where people can visit (and hopefully adopt) the foster cats who live on premise.

Dog-Friendly Restaurant Patios: Yes, our area has them! Dogs aren’t allowed on every patio, but those restaurants who are approved by the city (after an application and inspection process) will post a sign “Dog Friendly Patio / Dogs access only through outdoor patio” More information here.

Pet Adoption: Numerous pet adoption organizations serve our area, in addition to the Animal Service Departments in each city (Highland Village, Flower Mound and Lewisville). See our previous blog article from April 4th for area resources.

Volunteering for the Pets: A google search will turn up countless organizations that can use your help, from Animal Services (in Flower Mound, Lewisville and Highland Village)  to Humane Tomorrow, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, The Street Dog Project, and so many more! We love our animals!

pets - 6.JPGVeterinarians: Over 20 Veterinarians are listed on in the Flower Mound area alone. That doesn’t include surrounding areas. Your pet’s health will be in good hands!
