Many options for downsizing in this area!

SeniorCouple1Did you know that there are over 72 million baby boomers in the United States? And that 10,000 are turning 65 years old EVERY DAY!!!??? That’s a lot of retirees and/or empty nesters who would rather do something fun instead of mow the lawn one more time! If you’re one of them, please read on …

The Seay Realty Group took a look in our area. So many of our clients are considering  downsizing their homes in the near future and we want to be prepared for them! We found a few options that will allow you to remain in this fantastic area – take a look:

Retiree 01.jpgYou could live in an Over-55 Community in Flower Mound!

Orchard Flower is an over 55 community built by Grenadier Homes in beautiful Flower Mound. Offering bike & walking trails, a fruit orchard, universal design, and a maintenance-free lifestyle, this gated community also features a fitness center, pool with covered patio, card room and craft room for residents.

The Legends is an over 55 community developed by Lennar Homes and Village Builders, and will contain 91 single-family homes, a 4,500 square-foot clubhouse, pool, walking and biking trails.

You could also have fun in an active adult community in Highland Village!

Ladera Highland Village is an active adult community built by the Integrity Groups. Offering six models, the community will contain 102 homes at build-out. The HOA cares for all exterior maintenance, giving homeowners time to enjoy their active lifestyles in this gated, lock-and-leave community. Residents can enjoy a pool, outdoor fireplace, indoor amenity center, pickleball courts and a putting green.

golf.jpgOr you could golf in Lantana!

Downsize to Lantana? You bet! With 32 pristine and unique neighborhoods, this master planned community makes it easy for homeowners by including front yard maintenance (mowing, edging, fertilizing, shrub trimming) in the HOA dues. Homeowners still get the pleasure of planting their own flowers and maintaining their fenced back yards. Plenty of smaller homes are available in this golf course community.

Have you thought about a Patio Home?

Harvest Townside (a neighborhood in Harvest by Hillwood) is a new addition to the Harvest community in the Northlake/Argyle area at I-35W and FM 407, just north of HWY 114. Featuring patio homes by D.R. Horton and David Weekley Homes, front yard maintenance is included in the HOA dues. Patio homes begin at 1,500 square feet – the model home park is now open.

building - 7.jpgAnother Option – Building a New Rightsize Home!

Certain builders are known for their “rightsize” homes, catering to empty-nesters and many are currently building in master planned communities so you and your family can live in the same neighborhood. We know our local builders well, and are happy to sit down with you and discuss your new home needs!

Or You Could Move to an existing, smaller home!

This area has a plethora of smaller homes that will be perfect for you and allow room for the grandkids to visit! You’ll still have the yardwork and all the home maintenance to do, but money can be saved by moving to a smaller home in taxes, upkeep and other expenses.

As you can see, there are SO many options out there (and we haven’t even covered all of them here – there’s also townhomes and condo’s and villas – OH MY!).
