St Patrick’s Day …..
St. Paddy’s Day is Sunday, March 17th and there are so many things to do!! So don your green and jump right into the fun with these local activities … but first, are you wondering why everyone wears green on St. Patrick’s Day? This article explains it all, from the politics of wearing green to hiding from Leprechauns. However, our personal favorite reason … to avoid being pinched, which (according to 92.9 The Bull) “is a completely American tradition that probably started in the 1700s. St. Patrick’s revelers thought wearing green made one invisible to leprechauns, fairy creatures who would pinch anyone they could see (anyone not wearing green). People began pinching those who didn’t wear green as a reminder that leprechauns would sneak up and pinch green-abstainers.
