Get a Head Start on Decorating – the HOT Colors for 2019!

Spring is just around the corner, and The Seay Group is so excited about the colors that are predicted to be hot this year! If you have a remodeling job in your future, walls to be painted, or a few throw pillows to purchase, consider working with these hues to give your room the WOW factor!

throw-pillows1The 2019 list of trending colors is wide and variable, but the one thing they have in common is they all lead toward warmer tones than the grey movement, which was a cooler color.

Living Coral

Named Pantone’s 2019 color of the year, Living Coral is a hopeful and optimistic color that coordinates well with cooler colors like blue or gray. Living Coral combines the energy of orange with the softness of pink and can be incorporated into your decorating easily by using it as an accessory or on your patio.

Dark Greens

A timeless color, PPG’s color of the year, Night Watch, is a rich deep green that is central in nature and all of life, really. It works beautifully with natural colors and neutral tones. This is not the hunter green of old – Night Watch is a unique shade that conjures up the calming feel we get from nature. Elle Décor cautions that this is a shade best used in small doses such as accent walls, or when paired with gold accessories.

Navy BlueNavy / Dark Blue Hues

Beautifully dark and moody, navy is perfect for kitchen cabinets, custom built-ins. Elle Décor suggests using navy in rooms with plenty of natural light.

Off-Cream

Inspired by the minimalist movement and hygge’, pale, neutral colors go perfectly with the calm that a clutter free, mindful lifestyle brings. Shades associated with minimalism, such as creams, beiges and whites, are being used in many home palettes. Warm undertones in these neutral colors will fit right in with the trend toward warm colors for 2019.

Woodland / Mushroom

Think a lot of texture (wood beams, wood floors, linen, nail heads) along with mushroom shades and you have the Woodland feel. The color Mushroom is hard to describe – picture beige with less brown and more gray. Not quite greige, but a beautiful warm shade that brings warmth to rooms and gives off an old world, naturalist feel. It coordinates well with the Off-Cream minimalist colorway mentioned above.

PaintColorsEarthy Tones

Increasingly popular, earthy tones can range from soft gray to blues to terra cotta. Terra Cotta is gaining attention as a more muted version of Living Coral. If you don’t want it on your walls, you’ll find it showing up as accessories and accents just about everywhere.

Muted Pastels

These pastels are a little different from the saccharine sweet colors of 2018. This year, think very pale chalky muted blues, purples or greys. Pink really doesn’t factor in for 2019. Interestingly, a lilac-grey hue is making inroads – it’s subtle and refreshing, warm and cheery. This shade is really a grey with lilac undertones that warms up the grey but keeps it neutral.
