Spring Events to Enjoy with Your Family

The first day of Spring is Tuesday, March 20, although our weather of late feels like spring already! With Spring Break, St. Patrick’s Day and Easter all coming up, we’ve listed a few outdoor events you and your family might enjoy:

StPatricksDay-dogSt. Patrick’s Day Photos with a Leprechaun
–Saturday, March 10 8:30 am – 12PM
–Coppell Farmer’s Market, 768 W. Main Street, Coppell
Free event – St. Patrick’s Day photos with a leprechaun. The leprechaun will take center stage with you, your kids, and dogs. Sponsored by The Coppell Humane Society, donations are encouraged.

St. Paddy’s Texas Style
–Saturday, March 17th  2pm – 10pm
–Wayne Ferguson Plaza in downtown Lewisville
This free, family-friendly, event will include food and beer, music, carnival-type activities (including inflatables and a 40-foot zip line), and a showing of “Brave.” There will be a performance by students from the Maguire Academy of Irish Dance and musical performances by Reel Treble, Rathmore and Two Tons of Steel. 2 p.m. to 10 p.m

easteregghunt-girlAnnual Lantana Easter Egg Hunt (and diaper drive!)
–Saturday, March 24  10am – 12pm
–Lantana Golf Club, 800 Golf Club Drive, Lantana 76226
Family fun event and diaper drive benefiting YoungLives. The Easter Egg Hunt is for kids infant-10 with each age group doing their own hunt!!! Prizes for golden eggs, raffle and door prizes. The Lantana Golf Club will be selling family friendly foods and drinks so everyone from Grandma to the littles can have fun!!!

Funny Bunny Festival
–Saturday, March 24 9:30am – 12:30pm
–Lewisville Railroad Park
Hop on over to Lone Star Toyota of Lewisville Railroad Park for an egg-cellent time! You will be able to take a ride on the Boogie Woogie Choo Choo train, snuggle up with some lovable animals from the petting zoo, pose for a picture with Mr. or Mrs. Funny Bunny and, of course, fill your Easter basket with lots of goodies. more information at City of Lewisville

Easter Egg Scramble
–Saturday, March 24  1:30pm
–Jakes Hilltop Park in Flower Mound
Flower Mound celebrates its 35th Annual Easter Egg Scramble, presented by Primrose Schools. Lots of candy will be available for the taking and there will be a special appearance by the Easter Bunny! Activities begin at 1:30 p.m., and the Scramble begins promptly at 2:30 p.m.

–Saturday, March 31  10am to 5pm
–Sycamore Bend Park, Lake Lewisville in Hickory Creek
2nd Annual Kids and Tailwaggers with Woofapalooza and Easter Egg Hunt from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Sycamore Bend Park, Lake Lewisville in Hickory Creek. Easter egg hunt begins at 10 a.m. Includes activities for kid’s and canine’s. www.kidsandtailwaggers.com

Underwater Easter Egg Hunt
–Saturday, March 31 beginning at 10am
–Flower Mound Community Activity Center
Hop on over to the CAC for the Underwater Egg Hunt! Egg-citing activities include a visit by the Easter Bunny, arts and crafts, and games. Stay around after the egg hunt to play in the pool and enjoy other activities. Parents must be in the water with all nonswimmers. Preregistration is required. Ages 3-12. Members: $5, nonmembers: $6.

Fido Fest 2018
–Saturday, March 31 beginning 10am
–Westchester Park, 3917 Churchill Drive, Flower Mound
Fido Fest is a day of fun with your dog that raises funds to support the programs and services of Humane Tomorrow. Dog walk starts at 10 a.m. and vendor booths will open after. Enjoy the Bow Wow Bistro, costume contest, photo booth, agility course and dog games. General admission is free; dog walk registration is $25 ($30 day of event). www.humanetomorrow.com/fidofest

Texas-Tulips

–You pick tulip farm for a fun adventure picking tulips and enjoying the beauty of the surrounding fields filled with color.  Entrance fee: $3/person, children 12 months and under: Free entrance .  Operating hours: Monday – Sunday, 7 days a week, 9.00am – 8.00pm,  U-pick, $2.50/stem (tulip flowers will be wrapped in pretty paper and stems will be put in flower gel)  https://texas-tulips.com/visitors-information/

This is the 45th year for this traditional Easter Sunrise Service on the Flower Mound, located near the intersection of FM3040 and FM2499. This year, Creekwood Christian Church will preside over the service, which is co-sponsored by The Summit Club, The Women of Flower Mound and The Mound Foundation. The service begins at 6:45am and ends about 7:15am, ending with a dramatic sunrise (we hope!) Please join us. www.summitclub.org
